Pieces of The Broken Moon – Part – 1

Aurora

It was not a perfectly silent night. At first she was intimidated by them but after a while those faint sounds – now a natural part of the ambience – were having some sort of magical, calming effect on her. She thought of someone sitting far away playing violin for her. It was the breeze. She closed her eyes and felt the air on her neck which passed through her hairs into the mystic blue infinity behind her. The soft cotton of the snow falling had turned the floor into surface of a cloud.  A cloud with a fairy on it, but confined into a cage.

The cage was made of snow – snow that refused to melt – with a lid of diamond on the top. When she saw it for the first time, was intrigued by its presence in the middle of nowhere. She knew that this will be a long night. The six month long winters and night on the north pole had started just a few days back and she was flying over the arctic to see the aurora – the cosmic lasers – which she had only seen in pictures. The full moon on the sky lighted the snowscape with a faint blue light. The moon, the mysterious and heavenly symphony of lights in the aurora, and a breeze; all was perfect until she saw that cage.

She remembered her sister telling her not to get into anything incongruent but the curiosity got better of her. As soon as she landed into the cage, a large diamond appeared out of nowhere to block the only entry.

to be continued…
